Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machine which could carry loads that are approximately 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and big, these industrial machinery still bear the possible risk of accident or crash. In order to be safe, be certain to have operators put on an appropriate seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. We all know that in the event of an accident, seat belts can save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The types of seat belts that can extend both across the upper body and over the lap are the three-point seat belts. These belts offer an extra degree of safety by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable styles.
Most modern vehicles available offer retractable seat belts. While non-retractable styles increase safety, retractable kinds provide much more comfort. It is truly impossible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are ones which extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The type of seat belt that forces a forklift operator to put on a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which makes an alarm sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band types.
