Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport things and materials around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.
Pallet trucks should be operated with care in order to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment should be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To be able to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever found on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be at the center to be able to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet in front of you as the thrust can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Gradually come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
