Reach Truck
In order to keep storage areas tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck is available in quite a few types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are just one pallet in depth.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is like the stand-up, is commonly utilized. This model consists of telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide underneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in many directions. This particular model is best in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Within most warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and could increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
