Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run utilizing LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, certain safety measures should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
